Auction Result Artcurial Apr 22, 2026

Artcurial auctions reached a total of €9,108,015. Nicolas de Staël’s 1949 work sold for €1,085,680. Rembrandt Bugatti’s Marabouts Centrepiece with six silver sculptures fetched €794,400. Josef Sima’s 1959 oil on canvas realized €609,040, more than three times its estimate, while Claude Lalanne’s 1978 copper sculpture reached €463,400. Additional results included a 1982 work at €84,736, Fernand Léger’s circa 1953 piece at €76,120 and Amedeo Modigliani’s Nu de femme debout, les bras levés (1917) at €75,468, which doubled its estimate.

The Signal

Robert Combas’s Soldat dansant la danse des avions (1983) sold for €165,500 in the same sessions. Kim Tschang-Yeul’s white marble from the Roger & Denise Vergé collection brought €77,212. The results demonstrate sustained collector demand for established post-war names and rediscovered works, with several lots exceeding estimates by wide margins and indicating firm pricing in the middle and upper tiers of the market.
