The Facts
Fondation Louis Vuitton has published its collection online, presenting 330 works by 120 artists that have been displayed since the museum opened. The collection, conceived with a long-term vision of public engagement, comprises artworks dating from the 1960s to the present day. It is structured around the stated aims of founder Bernard Arnault and is divided into four categories: Contemplative, Pop, Expressionist, and Music & Sound. The foundation does not aim to rival the comprehensiveness of a public collection but rather share the emotions and questions generated by art.

The collection includes works by Gerhard Richter, Annette Messager, Wolfgang Tillmans, Yayoi Kusama, and Mark Bradford, among others. The inaugural hang in 2014 featured emblematic works curated to complement Frank Gehry's architecture, with subsequent hangs expanding the Expressionist and Contemplative themes.
