On August 31, 2026, M+ announced "Myths and Monsters: The Art of Fantasy in Asia," a Special Exhibition opening at the West Gallery in Hong Kong's West Kowloon Cultural District from October 17, 2026 to April 4, 2027. The survey spans the 19th to 21st centuries and features more than 400 works across contemporary art, architecture, fashion, video games, and film. Organized in four sections, it ranges from 19th-century supernatural imagery and Surrealist dreamscapes to manga, anime, and contemporary digital culture. Highlights include a new mural by Oscar Chan Yik Long and works by Takashi Murakami, LuYang, and others.
