The Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA), Getty, and USC Fisher Museum of Art will present a joint exhibition series from August 2026 through July 2027 focused on architect Paul R. Williams. The initiative examines the career of the first Black architect licensed west of the Mississippi, who completed over 3,000 projects across six decades. The coordinated programming will highlight Williams' contributions to 20th-century architecture and his role as the first Black member of the American Institute of Architects.
