Louisiana Museum of Modern Art Opens 'House Beautiful' Collection Presentation Featuring New Acquisitions
The Louisiana Museum of Modern Art is presenting works from its collection in the South Wing under the title 'House Beautiful', drawn from Martha Rosler's photomontage series. The selection includes painting, video, sculpture and photography created and acquired over nearly seven decades, featuring Francis Bacon, Roy Lichtenstein, William Kentridge, Ana Mendieta, Nan Goldin, Ed Ruscha and others. New acquisitions include Rosler's 'House Beautiful: Bringing the War Home' series from 1967-1972, added to address gaps in the collection. Paintings spanning 1929 to 2007 are grouped around Peter Doig's 'Music of the Future', while additional rooms explore themes from Mamma Andersson's 'The Day After' and 1970s artistic directions, with recent acquisitions from 2022-2025 shown on the upper floor.
