Tate Britain to Host Major Sonia Boyce Survey Exhibition in 2027, Hauser & Wirth Announces
Tate Britain in London will present a major survey exhibition of works by Sonia Boyce DBE RA opening on 24 March 2027 and running through 22 August 2027. The multi-sensory show spans more than four decades of the artist’s practice and includes large-scale installations, photography, collage, drawing, film and sculpture. It will feature reimagined works from Tate’s collection shown alongside installations never previously exhibited in the UK, with highlights including the ‘Devotional’ series and the most extensive presentation to date of her early pastel drawings and collages.
The Signal
Boyce emerged in the 1980s within the British Black Arts Movement and later represented Great Britain at the 2022 Venice Biennale, where she received the Golden Lion. The exhibition positions her collaborative and improvisational methods as central to questions of collective memory and the boundaries between private and public experience, marking the first institutional survey of her career at the museum.
