Uffizi Galleries Reopens Restored Stanzino delle Matematiche Following Two-Month Renovation
The Uffizi Galleries has completed a two-month restoration of the Stanzino delle Matematiche, a space originally designed to house the Medici family's scientific instruments and 16th-century frescoes by Giulio Parigi. Led by director Simone Verde, the project included floor and wall restoration, the installation of a new lighting system, and the maintenance of a collection of small ancient and Renaissance bronzes by Willem van Tetrode. The renovation aims to re-establish the room's historical identity as a bridge between scientific inquiry and antiquarianism, moving beyond its recent role as a viewing point for the adjacent Tribune.
