The Uffizi Galleries has reopened the 14 rooms of the Royal Apartments at Pitti Palace after a five-year closure and a nine-month multidisciplinary restoration project. The conservation effort addressed frescoes, stuccoes, silk wall coverings, and historical furniture across the suite, which served as the residence for the Medici, Lorraine, and Savoy dynasties. The reopened wing now features a layout based on a 1911 inventory, incorporating pieces from storage to highlight the apartment's 17th-century Medici origins alongside later Savoy and Lorraine additions.
