Bonhams Surrealist Sale in Paris Totals €1.37M as Dalí Museum Acquires 'Bacchanale' Stage Set
The Bonhams Surrealist sale on March 26 at Bonhams Cornette de Saint Cyr in Paris realized a total of €1,372,206 across 76 lots. Salvador Dalí's Bacchanale, executed in 1939 and consigned from an important private collection, sold for €254,400 to The Dalí Museum in St. Petersburg, Florida. The auction offered paintings and works on paper by Salvador Dalí, Francis Picabia, Paul Delvaux, Leonor Fini, Jane Graverol and others. Francis Picabia's La Polonaise from 1940 sold for €336,950, while Masque by the same artist realized €216,300.
