The Facts

On October 14, 2026, Galerie Max Hetzler announced "Rinus Van de Velde: Films," the first publication devoted to the artist's film work since 2019. It includes film stills, drawings, sculptures, props, studio and exhibition views, and a vinyl pressing of Joachim Badenhorst's soundtracks. Van de Velde will show "A Life in a Day" (2021–2023) at the fifth edition of OFFSCREEN Paris from October 20 to October 25, 2026, alongside handmade props and sets from his studio. The gallery also highlighted "A Fictional Autobiography II," published by Hannibal Books with a text by A.M. Homes, ahead of a February 17, 2026 talk at Abby Kortrijk and a February 27, 2026 signing at BOZAR Brussels.

The Signal

This positions Van de Velde as a multimedia artist whose film work is core to his contemporary market. Presenting "A Life in a Day" with his actual studio sets at OFFSCREEN reinforces the handmade, cinematic universe that underpins demand for his drawings and paintings. Museum shows at Abby Kortrijk and Museum Voorlinden and the Hannibal monograph add institutional momentum.
