Acquisition Bonhams

The National Portrait Gallery in London has acquired the only known photographs of mathematician Ada Lovelace from Bonhams through a private treaty sale. The acquisition includes three rare daguerreotypes, two taken by Antoine Claudet around 1843 and a third reproducing an 1852 portrait by Henry Wyndham Phillips. Tim Lindholm and Lucy Gaylord Lindholm supported the purchase through the American Friends of the National Portrait Gallery.
