Christie's to Offer Kandinsky's 1907 Masterpiece 'Das bunte Leben' in London Evening Sale on October 14

On September 1, 2026, Christie's announced it will present Wassily Kandinsky's 1907 painting 'Das bunte Leben' as a leading highlight of its 20th/21st Century: London Evening Sale on October 14, 2026. The monumental canvas, measuring 130 x 163 cm, was restituted to the heirs of Hedwig Lewenstein-Weyermann in June 2023. Widely regarded as the defining achievement of Kandinsky's formative years, the work was exhibited at the Salon d'Automne in Paris in 1907 and reflects the artist's synthesis of Pointillism, Fauvism, and Symbolism.
