Good morning. A quiet Saturday: the standout is a Mackintosh lantern's 20x estimate hammer, and the week's exhibition-heavy pattern holds.

On October 16, 2026, Gagosian announced Project 12, a residency launched in 2025 by the Opéra national de Paris and the Association pour le Rayonnement de l’Opéra national de Paris to mark the Palais Garnier's 150th anniversary. The twelve resulting artworks, including pieces by Cy Gavin and Spencer Sweeney, will be on view October 21–30, 2026 in an exhibition staged by architect Aline Asmar d'Amman. The works will be auctioned at Sotheby's in Paris on December 3, 2026, with proceeds benefiting the Opéra national de Paris. The display is designed to dialogue with the building's architecture and the ceiling painted by Isidore Alexandre-Augustin Pils.
A rare Charles Rennie Mackintosh lantern for Miss Cranston's tearooms sold for £609,850 at Lyon & Turnbull, 20 times its estimate, underscoring market depth for Scottish design.
