Good morning. TEFAF's long-term commitment to Maastricht anchors the fair's stability for another decade.

THE LEAD

TEFAF Maastricht Extends Fair's Stay Through 2036, Secures Long-Term Venue Agreement

via TEFAF

On September 8, 2026, TEFAF (The European Fine Art Foundation) announced a long-term agreement with MECC Maastricht, the Province of Limburg, and the Municipality of Maastricht to keep the fair in the city through 2036. The current agreement runs through the 2027 edition, and the new deal covers 2027–2036. The 39th edition in 2026 drew over 50,000 visitors from 75 countries, with 277 international dealers. An economic impact report by Deloitte found TEFAF Maastricht generates €86.4 million for the Netherlands, including €37.9 million in Maastricht alone. The next edition is scheduled for March 13–18, 2027. TEFAF also secured a five-year renewal for its New York fair at the Park Avenue Armory through 2031.

TEFAF's 10-year extension eliminates the perennial relocation speculation, letting dealers plan long-term investments in Maastricht.
